Jazz Passions : Ad Blocking
Passions Network is a network of individual sites providing (for free) virtually all features found on most online dating/social networking sites.
To cover the costs of the network, ads appear throughout the sites in the network.
As technology has progressed, a number of Ad Blockers have been developed, and many browsers have Ad Blocking built in by default.
Passions Network has implemented a feature that appears at the top of every page when our system identifies ad blocking.
While visitors can ignore it by scrolling down past it on every page, it is meant to be an annoyance to encourage turning off Ad Blocking...so that we can afford to run the network without charging.
While our individual sites are available for free, provided ads can display...we do have an OPTIONAL 'Network Wide Upgrade' option that:
1) Disables most, but not all, ads within the network
2) Opens access to virtually every site within Passions Network's network of 260+ niche dating sites
3) Allows members to 'Hide Their Profiles From Search Engines'
4) And many other options.
For individuals who are not interested in upgrading, we are providing the following instructions on how to disable Ad Blocking within Passions Network sites. Since Ad Blocking is changing constantly, we cannot guarantee the following will work in every situation, but we will update this page as we become aware of additional means of disabling Ad Blocking.
To help individuals who are seeing Ad Blocking take place, but who are not sure how to re-enable ads on a specific site, we are providing helpful instructions.
DOWNLOADED ADBLOCKER EXTENSION ADDED INTO YOUR BROWSER
1) If you have downloaded a browser extension specifically to block ads (like AdBlocker), then you will see the icon for it in your browser header area, typically as an icon displayed on the right side. Just click the Ad Blocker icon and change it from Enabled On This Site (which blocks ads) to Disabled On This Site (which allows ads) for any Passions Network site where you see our Ad Blocker notice appear.
CHROME BROWSER
2) If you are using a Chrome browser and you have not downloaded Ad Blocking software, then your browser may be blocking ads by default. This can easily be changed by visiting your Chrome Settings Page and changing the Ad setting from Block to Allow. The setting is located here:
chrome://settings/content/ads <= copy and paste the entire link into your Chrome browser address bar if you cannot reach it by clicking
FIREFOX BROWSER
3 A) If you are using a Firefox browser, there is currently no default Ad Blocking built into the browser. If you experience ad blocking in Firefox, then at some point an Ad Blocker extension has been added. To disable the Ad Blocking extention, go to your Firefox Add On area:
about:addons <= copy and paste all of text to the left of the arrow into your Firefox browser address bar
Once you are on your Firefox Add On page, you can disable the Ad Blocking extension.
3 B) If you are using a Firefox browser in incognito/private mode, it can block ads automatically causing our ad block indentifier to intitiate. Try switching to a non-private Firefox window (without an Ad Blocking extension) and that should fix the problem.
MICROSOFT BROWSER
4) If you are using the Microsoft Windows browser or the newer Microsoft EDGE browser, there is currently no default Ad Blocking. If you experience ad blocking in either of these browsers, then at some point an Ad Blocker extension has been added. To disable the Ad Blocking extention, click the three dots in the upper right of your browser and go to the 'Customize Extensions' area. Once you are in the Extensions area, find the Ad Blocking Extension and turn it off.
SAFARI BROWSER
5) If you are using the Safari browser, there is currently no default Ad Blocking. If you experience ad blocking, then at some point an Ad Blocker extension has been added. To disable the Ad Blocking extention, click the gear icon in the far right of your Safari browser, and click the Safari Extensions link:
https://safari-extensions.apple.com/
Once you are in the Extensions area, find the Ad Blocking Extension and turn it off.
If you are using a different browser, or you have downloaded a computer wide ad blocking system, like Ad Guard, then you will need to open whatever system you have downloaded and disable if for sites within Passions Network.
