Bright and Challenging, aims to please. I am an intelligent, funny, sometimes wickedly so, guy who is courteous and thoughtful, gregarious, introverted, serious, and sometimes off the wall!
I love good music (jazz, big band, blues, classical), stimulating conversation, lol til it hurts, great food, great places, great books, and, most importantly, great people.
I am a professional with a very demanding career that I love but need that special diversion to get me out of my professional dog house.

I am at various times described by acquaintances, and a few friends and relatives, as cold, calculating, reasoned, solitary, and, then, and as circumstances require, permit, and as I my perceive as enjoyable, gregarious, loquacious, the wit of the group. It, truly, depends upon the company I keep. I do not well suffer cretins, idiots, the ill-informed, the semi-illiterate, egotists, connivers, and schemers. My humor is acidic, acerbic, sardonic, insulting, wicked, wacky, ribald, lewd, provocative, yet self-deprecatory because if I tell someone that he is a fool he has already heard from my lips that I am an idiot.

To know me is to understand my silence. It is not a reflection on you but a requirement for the act of thought.

I shall walk through hell's fires for those whom I consider worthy and care for, I shall always have their back. With the right person and, the correct chemistry I am supportive, caring, understanding, loving, and romantic.

I enjoy the arts, theatre, dance (not me, I have two left and three right feet,) and music (Lyric Opera, Chicago Symphony, Chicago Chamber Musicians, Music of the Baroque, etc.,) all things technical, literature, history, woodworking, sailing (unfortunately, I sold mine about twelve years ago but am developing an itch to purchase one.) Historical, geographical, architectural, cultural, musical, and gastronomic are fun. Good food is a must, be it out or in (I cook and do the dishes.)
