jazz vocalist, lover, and friend i was introduced to jazz in a vocal ensemble setting my senior year in highschool but never really understood its purpose or history as a genre until my college career as a vocal performance major. i studied private voice in jazz and blues for four years and became largely inspired by artists such as Chet Baker, Blossom Dearie, Dinah Washington, Charlie Parker, Wayne Shorter, Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London, Mina Agossi, Patricia Baker, etc. i have sang in jazz vocal ensembles and i have a growing repertoire of standards as a solo jazz vocalist.
